The Sockeye salmon, known by Alaskan's as "Reds", are some of the most highly prized wild Alaska salmon for several reasons. This product ships frozen with dry ice and is ready to be held in your freezer. When you're ready to prepare, make sure to thaw under refrigeration for 12 to 24 hours prior to your meal.

Our Copper River sockeye salmon tail portions are flash-frozen and individually vacuum-sealed in 4 to 8 oz. packages. They are boneless and skinless.

Storing & Thawing:

Our vacuum-sealed, frozen Copper River sockeye salmon tail portions can be stored in your freezer for several months. The salmon tails can be thawed under refrigeration about 12 hours before preparation. The vacuum-sealed packages can also be ran under cold water to speed up the thawing process considerably.

Serving Suggestions:

An average serving size of sockeye salmon would be one half pound, however, due to the richness of this salmon a smaller portion size may be desired.

The Copper River sockeye salmon fishery is one of the first salmon fisheries to open every year in Alaska. The fish are handled very carefully when caught, being bled and dressed immediately, put on ice and shipped out fresh.
