King Crab Chowder

Creamy king crab chowder sprinkled with parsley flakes

  • 2 cups King Crab Meat
  • 6 Tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 cup Red Onion, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup Green Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium Tomato, chopped
  • 1/3 cup Celery, finely chopped
  • 1 cup Water
  • 3 medium baking Potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Tabasco
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Salt


Using a large, heavy pot, melt the butter over low heat. Add the red onion, green onions, tomato, and celery. Cook over low heat for 7 minutes. Increase the heat and bring the water to boiling. Add the potatoes, reduce the heat to simmer, and cook 45 minutes. Stir in the crab meat and the remaining ingredients. Cook, stirring frequently, until the soup returns to simmering boil. Serve immediately.
