20 lb Case - Snow Crab Cocktail Claws
Our snow crab cocktail claws are flash-frozen, glazed, then packaged in 1 lb clear plastic bags for easy freezer storage. Each bag includes 26 to 30 cocktail claws.
Our frozen snow crab cocktail claws can be stored in your freezer for several months. To thaw snow crab cocktail claws, place them in the refrigerator a day prior to serving. Rinse quickly under cold running water, to remove any lingering freezing brine. Left-over snow crab cocktail claws should be kept under refrigeration and consumed within a couple of days.
For a full meal, we recommend one pound per person. As an appetizer, 3-5 claws per person is generally adequate. However, at a party, your cocktail claws will likely receive more attention than any other appetizers being served!
Snow crab is low in fat and calories, yet high in protein, vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium and iron. It is also a good source of Folate and Magnesium, and a very good source of Vitamin B12, Phosphorus, Zinc, Copper and Selenium. On the other hand, snow crab is very high in cholesterol and sodium.
Alaska's annual fishing quota for snow crab is usually much larger than that of other species - making snow crab one of the most abundant types of Alaskan crab available. Alaska snow crab is sustainably-caught, and fishing is regulated by the Alaska Department of Fish & Game. By law, only male crabs are retained, leaving the happy and lucky females to remain in the Bering Sea and provide more tasty crab for all of us! Alaska's main commercial fishery for Snow crab starts in January and generally last for several months. It is considered one of the harshest crab fisheries due to the winter months that it takes place in.
