Rock crab has a unique flavor similar to that of a Stone crab. It’s meat is also very similar to Dungeness crab, being tender and delicate.
Their flavorful meat is an excellent ingredient for using in your favorite crab recipes, such as crab dips, crab bisques, & crab cakes.

Our Rock crab cocktail claws are flash-frozen, glazed, then packaged in 1 lb clear plastic bags for easy freezer storage. Each bag includes 10 to 12 cocktail claws per pound.
Our frozen Rock crab cocktail claws can be stored in your freezer for several months. To thaw Rock crab cocktail claws, place them in the refrigerator a day prior to serving. Rinse quickly under cold running water, to remove any lingering freezing brine. Left-over Rock crab cocktail claws should be kept under refrigeration and consumed within a couple of days.
For a full meal, we recommend one pound per person. As an appetizer, 3-5 claws per person is generally adequate. However, at a party, your cocktail claws will likely receive more attention than any other appetizers being served!
Rock crab are wild-caught by artisanal fishermen, within the coastal waters of western Chile, using pots or diving and catching them by hand. The fishermen tend to use single line pots and most of them haul the pots by hand. Only artisanal fishermen are allowed to capture rock crab from the shoreline to five miles out.
The wild Chilean rock crab fishery is a sustainable fishery. The Chilean government monitors and enforces regulations on the fishery by excluding large commercial vessels, setting size limits, carrying out test fisheries and enforcing fishery laws to ensure the fishery will be around for future generations.
