Our red king crab clusters are pre-cooked & flash-frozen. They are then glazed and packaged in clear plastic bags for easy freezer storage.
Frozen king crab clusters can be stored in your freezer for several months. To thaw king crab legs & claws, place them in the refrigerator a day prior to cooking. Rinse quickly under cold running water to remove any lingering freezing brine. Leftover king crab should be kept under refrigeration and consumed within a couple of days.
2 pounds of king crab will serve 2 to 3 people easily when you're serving with additional entrees. If you're having a crab feast or are serving a group of crab lovers, 5 pounds would be good for 3 people.
King crab is low in fat and calories, and is an excellent source of protein, being much leaner than the same amount of beef. Additionally, King crab is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and contains no carbohydrates, saturated fats, or trans fats. King crab legs are also nutrient-dense, making them a good source of vitamin C, folate, vitamin B12, as well as magnesium, phosphorus, selenium, zinc, and copper.

The Norton Sound king crab fishery is only open for a few weeks in July every year, to crab fishing boats using traditional pot-catching methods. There is also a winter fishery that opens in February each year, where fishermen cut large holes in the ice that covers Norton Sound during the winter and drop crab pots below to catch king crab.
