Storing & Thawing:

Frozen Alaska king salmon meat can be stored safely in your freezer for several months. The salmon meat can be thawed under refrigeration about 12 hours before preparation. The vacuum-sealed packages can also be ran under cold water to speed this up considerably.

The main king salmon fisheries are during the early summer months. Alaska fishermen catch salmon with care and ice them down to keep the salmon as fresh as possible while en route to salmon processing facilities. All Alaska's salmon are wild caught, not farmed.
